Team development - Kaizen - WalkingRally®

Target group: Managers/Executives, specialists and other staff, who daily work as part of a team or has tasks where cooperation is a central element.

Course content: The course has been developed in recognition of the fact that the purpose of teamwork is to breed individualists as skillful as possible. Through a practical course we give participants the opportunity to train and develop their skills within teamwork and quality improvement. By using specific tools the participants learn to improve their own work processes. Through a shared perception of goals, the participants learn to make decisions and take responsibility for their own work processes.

The following questions will be answered during the course:

  • How do we secure a shared and uniform perception of goals and problem areas?
  • How do we work with KAIZEN (continuous improvements)?
  • How do we distinguish between facts and biased opinions and beliefs?
  • How do we learn to use errors and poor processes as foundation for improvements?
  • How do we secure a creative work form?
  • How do we efficiently remove errors and unnecessary waste of resource in the work processes?
  • How do we improve our own work processes based on facts and demands from our external environment?

At the course we will use the TUC-model: See-Think-Plan-do-See, as described in the book “The third road”. The course that span over 3 days includes a practical assignment - Walking Rally®.

The course: Walking Rally® is best compared with car-orienteering “on foot”. By using a set of maps you walk in search of a series of check points which must be reached within a predetermined time frame. It is not very physically demanding but does require practical shoes and clothing. The assignment will give a shared experience and recognition of various problems related to every day work situations.

TUC holds the rights to the name Walking Rally® in Europe. Walking Rally® is an educational tool used to shed light on work processes and how to improve them. Walking Rally® is one of the cornerstones in the Japanese concept "Kaizen" which can be translated to - continuous improvements.

TUC has Walking Rally® routes many different places in Denmark such as, Espergærde, Køge, Fåborg, Præstø, Ebeltoft, Billund. We also have Walking Rally® -routes in Great Britain, U.S.A., Sweden, Norway and Greenland.
